Nokia in November Segment 1 - Nokia Music Store
by Darla
As we move into the 2nd week of the month (yeah I know I'm a bit behind schedule) I would like to start the first segment by discussing the Nokia Music Store. My guest for this segment will be Trevor Madigan, Head of Music Experiences North America.
As you know, the Nokia Music Store launched in the UK
Keep in mind that these segments might be global as well as regional for the North American market, simply because well, that's where I hail from.
Also, this is NOT a podcast, this is a written Q&A segment which will be posted on this site. I invite my readers, preferably from the North American market to post their questions in the comment field.

When will the music store launch in America? When will be able to, if ever, stream unlimited music to our handsets? When will you make online radio an easier experiance? Can we get some more details about this elusive "dedicated audio chip" that ship in some XpressMusic phones and not others? Who makes it, model, specifications? Are you negotiating with Warner Music Group to try and bring them back into the picture since they left due to MOSH? Why hasn't the music player (S60) been updated in ages?

I have the nokia n95 8gb, why does the audio quality and volume stink, it's just too degrading for an $800 phone?
Also when will Adobe Flash Lite 3 be available for the N95 8gb and other phones currently on the market (not the new touch phones coming out, already know they're having it)?

I'm so glad it's not a podcast...unlike apparently some people, I still like to read things on the web. I hate podcasts because you can't link to things within them, quote portions of them easily, or skim them.

Hi Darla,
A few questions for Trevor:
1) What are some of the barriers preventing widescale adoption of mobile music services in the US and Europe?
2) What plans (if any) does Nokia have for integrating social discovery, sharing and recommendations within its services?
3) Why would a consumer purchase music from the Nokia Music Store as opposed to Apple iTunes?
Thanks,
ASG

Will LA or Toronto be getting flagship stores any time soon? Does nokia plan on opening more flagship stores in North America and if so where? When will we see triband HSDPA devices? What is the meaning of life?
