Blog Posting to Typepad Using MS Word 2007

by Darla

Ok I know this has nothing to do with mobiles, but it has a lot to do with blogging!! Chatting with my Symbian-Guru I found that Typepad users can post to their blogs using Microsoft Word 2007. At first I thought that it would be a difficult task but surprisingly it's quite simple… and much more fun!

Once you open MS Word you simply click the Office Button to display your document creating options. You can select Blog Posting and then set up your blog settings. Currently, MS Word 2007 supports, Typepad, Blogger, Wordpress, Windows Live Spaces and more. Detailed information can be found here.

Once you have your blog settings registered the fun can begin!!

Now as you might already know, I use the neuropol font for almost everything!! Lol, but if I chose to blog post with it (which I won't do to spare the eyes of the reader) I could since it is stored on my lappytop.

There is a bunch of image options that can be used for posting… as you will soon see in my upcoming posts. I've always come across really cool image borders while reading other blogs, and ironically today sent a support request to Typepad asking how to manually configure a border into the style sheet of my template. Ok, yeah… so this makes me totally geeky… but at least I can now add more creativity to my blog posts!

From the menu bar you can open existing blog posts, insert categories, manage accounts and even publish in draft. For me, this is a much easier offline posting solution than using Notepad… which is what I've been doing when a thought occurs.

Since you register your blog account with the MS server, your existing posts and categories are at your fingertips. One thing though, if you already have an image in an existing post and wish to edit it you will have to replace the image completely.

Right now I'm still experimenting a bit and having fun with it, but if you've tried it and come across any other tips and tricks let me know!!

Thanks Ricky… now back to the serious stuff!

Wow! I want Microsoft Word 2007... It sounds like heaven! LOL :)
Currently I write my posts on Word 2003 but can't paste formatted text at TypePad since it doesn't support a lot of Word's html tags. That leaves me no other choice but to copy only the text and then edit and insert links and images at the Typepad editor. (At the beginning, I did try to copy from Word and Paste at TypePad and the post turned out to be a total mess...). Not very elegant, I know...
