Getting Back in the Game
by Darla
This weekend is a total blur for me. I spent most of it on the couch with a fever. Lol, its like the world stops around here when I get sick, but hey we are just machines right? We're bound to break down sometime. In any case... I DO remember my Friday.
For those that have not checked my background on my about page, I used to be a freelance make-up artist for Bobbi Brown cosmetics in NY. That was a short-lived profession that I miss, but left due to the events on 9/11. In any case, I happen to browse her website for the nearest locations to me and found that within the 2 years that I've been in NC they have opened up a location abut 45 minutes from me. Out of curiosity I decided to pay a visit to the department store and check out the counter. Fortunately, I met with the manager and we talked briefly. She mentioned that she has no freelancers for the area and the lightbulb went on!!
I thought long and hard about it that night and decided that I do want to get back into freelancing. I loved it. My portfolio is so outdated but I'm sure I can grab some people from school. It may not be NY but I guess the location really doesn't matter.
So, I will be contacting the Account Rep on Wednesday and hopefully I can start over where I left off since I've already gone through training. Wish me luck!!

Good luck!
